They should prolly just give the affected users a $50 Amazon gift card and tell them use it buy a new BDP or a streaming device.

Kind of scary to think their update approach could also destroy every smart TV they’ve produced. May be a good idea to turn off automatic internet updates! I also don’t see that Samsung makes Blu Ray players for the US market anymore. Their fix for now broken players does not seem to be an easy one.
