Bill Withers was an interesting man. I had previously read about how he decided to become a musician after the Navy although he had no experience to speak of. He walked away from performing in 1985, and only "appeared" once afterwards on guest spot on a 2004 Jimmy Buffett song.

He died of complications of heart disease.

    :(

That's a good article, and Withers' quotes make it clear he was a pretty smart and self-aware fellow.

It is always nice to read of someone who "walked away from fame" without having been trashed by it in the process.

    He was great.

    Bill,
Your song " Who is he, and what is he to you" is fantastic too! I love the beat!
