The perfect storm kills my company.

With Saudi dumping oil and the virus lock down reducing fuel demand, the price for West Texas crude has dropped to $20. This means rigs going idle and some drilling companies going out of business. Canada is worse with West Canadian down to $5. What this means is my company, that supplies these drilling companies, has lost not only its largest customer but smaller ones too. The bottom line is my company folded this week. I am now another out of work statistic on the news.

Very sad news indeed. Is there any hope of getting back into the game when things pick up, or is this a done deal?

I am truly saddened to hear this @Wardsweb . I have been silently cheering every time I pass gas stations lately, now I will reflect on the fact that not everyone is benefiting
from this. I pray things get better for you soon, man.
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Thanks guys, I'm glad to have friends online. Being isolated at home and no work to go to, I have somewhere to go, even if it is just online. Yes, it sucks, but there are so many people who have it way worse than I do. I'll take some time and get back on the horse in a different field. Oil and Gas will take years to get back to normal.

Gosh, I hope everything works out for you, and you find that new horse.

I have a nephew who went from Georgia to outside Denver late last year for a oil related job. I assume he will be affected too.

IMHO, the Suadi/Russia oil conflict shot all parties in the foot. At anytime they could have corrected the market before the CV-19 pandemic. Since the pandemic all and every supply is topped off and all reserves are full. Market oil use will be extended, more than they expected and at some point they will cause a shortage when they are buttassbroke

Hey man, another oil and gas worker here. Sorry to hear about your company. I am in the same boat. Been doing title work for ten years, through the downturn of 2014-2016, but I think time I will move out of the industry. I wish you the best, it’s been a tough start to the year.

My boss laid off 100 workers last week. I've still got my job but I'll only get about 28 hours. Not sure how long I'll be kept.

Unfortunately I feel that darker days are still a coming.
