Emergency work at home plans are being made. They aren't ready for remote
work at home in most departments. We have 500 laptops coming in for critical users.

Great news, if it ever gets here, and if it’s available to the general public (no need for an “approved referral”).

South Korea have been offering drive through testing for at least a month.

Google clarified things on Twitter, an hour after the press conference.
We are developing a tool to help triage individuals for Covid-19 testing. Verily is in the early stages of development, and planning to roll testing out in the Bay Area, with the hope of expanding more broadly over time. We appreciate the support of government officials and industry partners and thank the Google engineers who have volunteered to be part of this effort

So testing tells you if you have it or not, now what?? those who tested negative can pick it up the very next day, and the others are told to go home for 14 days do they all stay home??

This was one of several items that Trump was corrected on after his address. If you're going off his address, you might want to read several follow up articles correcting multiple statements around testing, travel bans, and spread rates.

You know that how ? I can't imagine in a so called crisis situation, fast tracking a vaccine isn't on the table.

FACT, it takes 12-18 months to develope a vaccine. Do some research and find anything different let me know.

I will eat crow, I love crow.

The problem isn't so much developing the vaccine, it is the testing required to prove it works and does not cause other problems potentially worse than the disease. "I am Legend" is a bad movie from an accuracy perspective, but it does highlight that we need to be sure the cure is viable and safe before releasing it on the world. I am just glad that I am not the lab-rat for this one.

    Numbers.

You have a 1 in 6 chance of dieing from heart disease. Does that stop any of you from chowing down those Doritos and burgers ? Keep you away from the fast food drive thru's?

You have a 1 in roughly 100 chance of dieing in a car accident. Does that keep any of you from driving ? Have we halted the sales of cars and trucks ? Told people to take a hiatus from driving ?
