Now that the rainy season is almost over, we are getting a decent rain storm in Northern CA. It did not rain a drop in February. Driest since records starting being kept.

We do need to build water pipelines across the country. Then we can share the excess.

After doing a lot of driving through the mountains of central CA, many of the reservoirs are quite low... rain is good.

California is the largest farm in the world, maybe a little water would be nice. I would venture to say that you probably consume something grown in California on a weekly, if not daily basis.

The issue as always is too many people in places that can't support it.
There are many documentaries about urban development and water.
NYC has huge tunnels going up into the Adirondacks sucking up water.
Places like LA don't have anywhere to go to for water that supports
the massive volume needed. A whole lot of big urban areas are in the same
fix. Las Vegas is living on borrowed time. San Diego is at least trying
to use tech to make water.available from the sea. All the coastline
should of jumped aboard this years ago. The Dallas metro area has
built new lakes up by the Oklahoma border to trap and supply water
needs going forward. And it cost $$$$. This resulted in the high cost of water of
    where I used to live.

I've been saying that for decades, use technology for sea water. Israel does it, along with many others along the Mediterranean.

Our planet is majority water, you gonna tell me we can't figure this out ?

The problem along the West Coast is that the haves are too busy saying "not on my Beach" while leading the chorus of "save the endangered (insert species 'd Jour here). which prevents building just about anything for either the public good or business in general.

We could have gas prices in line with the rest of the country here, but we havent built a new refinery here in 60 years and upgrading existing ones is nearly impossible while also trying to keep up with demand and environmental law.

Funny thing about water though, is that my science teachers in High School kept talking about the planet running out of fresh water by 2010 if we didn't get a handle on population growth and a host of other stuff. After all, the world is only 3% freshwater.

Today we still have 3% fresh water.

Las Vega was/is a doomed project. Mexico city gets enough rain, but has
no where to put it. A lot of areas are in the same fix. And they're are still growing bigger.
Memphis gets a ton of rain, and water is plentiful. After paying
my North Texas water bill for years, I just laugh when I see the one here.
Cheap. I don't have to water my yard to grow grass.
And we have lots of BBQ places. :)

Just checked, got a lot of rain in my branch of the sewer but Mammoth got very little snow. I doubt the rest of the Sierras are getting anything either. Rain is nice but it's not helping.

The NAS training center is long gone. We now
Have a Naval support activity mid-South?
Weird name. I trained up there in the mid 70's.
I never dreamed I'd be back.
And my back yard is woods and the Wolf river.
Nothing like dry barren Dallas. Still hot though.

Okinawa gets a lot of rain, but once again, there's now where to store it.
It all goes into the ocean, and the Marines spent half the year rationing water.
