Denon 3500h or Yamaha TSR 7850

Hi
Costco is doing a nice discount on the Yamaha TSR-7850.......but it only has 2 pre-out
The Denon 3500h is $550 on Amazon, with full set of preouts and XT32 (and I have a $150 gift card)
Nonetheless, is the Denon a higher level receiver than the Yamaha?

Yamaha TSR-700 (equivalent to RX V6A)

Denon ftw. For the reasons you list. And those avr-x models sound great for HT and not too shabby at all for music...

    +1 for Denon
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

Yes, that Denon is a higher level receiver than that Yamaha. Compare the Denon AVR-X series to the Yamaha AVENTAGE series (both are very good), but if these are the two models you're down to, as others recommended, go with the Denon.

I have TSR-7790, got it off of A4L over two years ago still going strong! It’s 95 x 2 into 8 ohms. Doesn’t have DTS-X or Atmos, has everything else. Unit has been really good. Love the 4K up convert, Since I’m in a small apt, really can’t do Atmos. Plus Going to a newer unit wouldn’t give me much if any improvement. I will add two Outlaw monoblocks next month. Don’t really need them just want them 😁

All good. I have a B&K 5 ch amp hooked up ro it. If I had one small beef, is that the output of the preouts coukd be a bit more. Even with the input settings at +6 still need to up the volume.

yep, Gene over on AH had done some test on Yamaha A870 he found that that out put was low on that unit also. It should be a Standard on All unit’s that have pre-amp outs of 2.0v.
