Marantz HD-CD1

Musicdirect has this on sale for $400 through the holidays. I was thinking about getting the Cambridge CXC transport since Skip currently has it for the same price. But this is tempting since it could go into a future bedroom system. Does anyone have any experience with this, either as a player or as a transport? Thanks.

I could be wrong, but I think Dave had some issues with the CXC? @verb

I know that doesn't answer your question, but it might help make a decision..

It did have issues, it would mute intermittently and had display issues. Of which Cambridge gave me a full refund. Overall a very nice player, as I love Cambridge stuff, I would have kept it but decided to to for with the Marantz CD1 with a smaller footprint in the office at the time.

Thanks a lot guys. I’m leaning to getting the Marantz. I like the smaller footprint.
