    Currently 23 degrees got a 1 1/2 of snow last night. Windchills have been brutal the past couple of days below zero. Tommorow it's going to be a balmy 40 degrees heat wave on the way.

    Lots of snow on the ground here in north Idaho after being in the bullseye of a storm out of the gulf of Alaska for several days. At least we haven't had any below zero yet.

    After many years in MN I am still amused by the following warning...mind you its a bone chilling 42 right now LOL

    WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 9 AM EST
    WEDNESDAY...

    * WHAT...Cold wind chills expected due to a combination of cold
    temperatures and northwest winds at or a little above 10 mph.
    Expect wind chills to range from 25 to 35.

    * WHERE...All east central Florida.

    * WHEN...1 AM to 9 AM Wednesday.

    I remember guys at work who were recent transplants from the North wearing shorts and a T-shirt laughing at me wearing pants, long-sleeve shirt and a jacket around this time of year.

    Their arms and legs would be all red or pink...and mine would be all warm and comfy. :D

    65* is about the temp. I start thinking about long sleeve shirts and pants! If it's going to get colder...pants.
    Going to get warmer...shorts. B)
    Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

    I was in Pasadena over the weekend and the temp was about 65-70. Some people were wearing down parkas. I heard one woman say that she wanted to go out to eat dinner but when she stepped outside it was so cold she decided to forget it and stay home. Lol. When I got home it was -15 and snow drifts.

    When we first got here in 2014 after living in Seattle for 4 years I was shorts and flip flops everywhere all year. Now today I'm wearing shoes and a pull over sweater. Funny how fast our bodies get acclimated to our environment.

    When we did get here, it was in August and I was sent to our out door firing range for training. I thought was was going to stroke out and die.

    I remember in the early 80's when we had a very hot summer, in fact one day hit 114 in Dallas. It's still a record to this day.

    There were people moving to Texas in the 80's from up north because the car manufacturers were laying off people and they heard Texas had jobs.

    I talked to one person from up north one day who had just moved to Dallas and we were talking about how hot it was in Texas. He said he felt like he was in hell. He asked me if this was a typical Texas summer and I said yes. The look on his face was priceless as he thought what had he moved into. I waited about 5 minutes and then told him that no it wasn't a typical Texas summer. The relief on his face was something to see. I'll never forget that conversation.

    You should have told him this was a cool summer.... ;)
