Agree 100% Ron. I've always gave mine knuckle (knee) bones or the ball end of a femur. Some of my dogs devoured them in short order others could care less. Chester up there in my avatar will eat most of the meat off then walk away. Now he'll tear up the black xl kong toys and balls like a marshmallow so i know he could crunch a bone but just has no interest.

So today we had a professional human trainer come out to train me on how to have the best experience with Tommy. Tommy is extremely smart for his age and we had a great time learning how the little dog can follow the big dog (me) which is what dogs really want to do.

We spent about 2.5 hrs together and it was a great experience... We went over a basic set of rules regarding "yes" and "no" behavior, leash training and how to deal with a dog that can sometimes have moderate to extreme adrenaline fueled behavior. I am amazed at how simple and how effective this program works. Basically trains the human how to speak dog like dogs do with each other.

1 time fee unlimited sessions for life and 24/7 support.

Good looking pup and looks very happy. If he's very energetic I found that bike riding with the lead works wonders. Didn't take me long when my dogs were younger to train them to run along side the bike. They loved it. A tired dog is a content dog. Hope ya have many years of enjoyment with him!

I've been doing some bus. travel here in FL couple days/week for the last few weeks... Have been sending Tommy to the doggy day care/spa/boarding... He loves it ... they have play groups where he gets to socialize with other dogs all of which are bigger than him but he has a blast driving them all crazy.... The people who handle and care for all the dogs love playing with him too.... I can check in on him with their webcam access and he is always tearing it up having fun with his pals. When I pick him up he is usually exhausted and he sleeps for hours recharging his battery.

Once he got home he wanted to chill...

That's actually a river... with mangroves, manatees and gators... lotsa birds eagles and osprey... and the fishing in that area is world class....redfish, snook, grouper, tarpon, sheepshead... all good eats (except tarpon)

So now that Tommy was past being 6 months old.... It was time... for his neutering... I felt bad but got it done yesterday. He was such a good boy and is resting comfortably (I don't think I could) and he is being very good so far with his lampshade.

Ouch. While I had both my female dogs fixed I couldn’t bring myself to get the male neutered. However, all three got along, and never had any issues. Now I have four cats (3 females, 1 male), and all four are fixed.

I struggled with it a bit and researched some alternative procedures but the vet said that this may be the best long term for a JRT... Something had to be done b/c boarding and daycare don't want a sexually active dog mixing with the rest of the spayed and neutered dogs... I'm sure he'll be fine. Everyone at the vet/resort give him so much attention that I would hate to go to a private service... He loves playing with other dogs and has socialized well with them.

So Tommy is completely recovered from his neutering ordeal...He was so good. Never whined once and didn't try to remove his cone... he is now a little over 7 months old and is progressing nicely. He is a joy to be around and always in a good mood too.
