Craigslist Trials & Weirdo's

Put a $650 pair of speakers for sale up on Craigslist for $500, a great deal.

Reply 3) Will you take $7.98 and a fresh pack of toothpicks for it?

Reply 5) The actual buyer

I meet the actual buyer in a parking lot. He hands me the money and as soon as I can get out "Do you want to open it up and check them out?" he grabs the box, says no, and walks away. The entire encounter lasted seconds. Cash was real, I looked at it immediately, just a super weird dude I guess.

Do you ever use Craigslist?

Visually looks good and we have a cash pen at work. I suppose I don't for absolute certainty. If it is it's extremely well done.

I've not had any weird experiences like that after meeting up for a transaction. Most of the time we end up having a good chat about audio.

Bought a bunch of stuff local to Vancouver, jackets, hiking gear, audio etc. Every single transaction great, honest and the people were awesome.
The toothpick offer should have been explored further. That level of wit required a response...haha

Mixed bag here. A lot of scammers (I’ll send you a cashiers check/money order for more than your asking price, then my movers will pick up... Yea, right), but a lot of good people too. Yesterday I had a guy come look at my Carver ALIII speakers I’m selling, and offer to trade me for wheels/tires for a Mustang...
Too much gear, too little time....

What's with the trade requests? No but you can sell your wheels and tires then use that money to buy my speakers.

    Many trials and massive weirdos.
Sales have been ok with the exception of the expected scammers but where the strange ducks surface is Craigslist Musicians. Um um um.
I ran a few posts some time ago and talk about Strange Ducks come a quacking. I should have known better. Had one guy I had to ask to leave camp out on my sidewalk with his guitar sitting on his cheap little amp strumming for the 🐦 birds or anyone passing by. I guess his girlfriend dropped him off and had to wait for her to pick him up. He hadn't bathed in a long time and I couldn't take the stink. I'm not one to bs around and I told him he needed a bath. He replied he doesn't believe in them...not kidding. That and he couldn't play for ****.

    No more musicians from there.

Audio gear and bicycles and antiques are what I have sold on CL. Always good groups of people to deal with. Just like me trying to save some coin. I sold a few video games with bad experiences. Couple pulls up to my house in an Explorer and army blanket to the ceiling between the front seat and rear seats. I could not see nothing back there so dark. I was hoping they were smoking weed and didn’t want to get baby high? But I also thought ? Maybe they are going to do a drive by next? No more video game sales after that. Peace. D

Mixed bag in DFW. Most were ok.
A few persistent low ballers would hound you.
I have't seen much in Memphis of interest.
And more to the point I have no death wish.
Not a good place to do CL deals.

If the item being sold was something good, it's probably already in a shipping container and heading out of the country shortly.

The bank accepted the money so? Guess it's real. I'll find out in a day or two if they reverse the deposit.
