BTW - Cold, rainy, and windy here by me. I got 4 boxes of king sized candy bars that I fear, at the end of the day, will have a lot left over!

Dave! Sorry for the late reply. We had 31 folks over here tonight as we have one of those “shut the street down” type Halloween neighborhoods.
Was a great time and my outfit is just a skeleton print on a shirt and mask. Lame I know.
But I make up for it with a pot of 4 gallons of smoked Chilli
-
Joe, you always do everything First Class!
The 4 gallons of smoked Chilli in the pot looks awesome."Sometimes you have to look to the past to understand where you are going in the future"Harry / Marietta GA -

Thank You Harry. Btw those biscuits you made might just be the best I have had. Jason agreed with me. -
He had me at four gallons of smoked Chili
-
It was a hit.
4lbs smoked ground round
3lbs pulled pork
1lb smoked pork sausage
1lb smoked turkey
2.5 gal Tomato stuff (sauce, diced, crushed )
3 red onions
4 peppers (yellow and red)
Two cans corn
The largest can of pinto beans you ever saw
Various spices and **** peppers (of which the details stay with me)
And all your favorite condiments were out.
Got down to the 40’s for trick or treating after it was in the 70’s earlier in the day. The food was right on time.Post edited by joecoulson on -
I spy a Breville on the counter Joe, sittin' idle. I'd be cranking that sucker into overtime.
Interesting chili recipe, corn and turkey ? I like Venison or Bison in mine, no corn. Sometimes I throw some bacon in there too. Looks good anyway Joe....but I'm wondering about serving all those people chili Must have cost ya 40 bucks just in TP.

LOL on the TP!
The Breville was in overtime when the guests arrived - to be sure, this was earlier in the day while cooking the base.
And the ingredients led to more of a Brunswick/Chilli recipe hence the corn. -
Brunswick ?? Does that even belong in the same sentence as Chili ?

Chili to me is like the good old southwestern style, a little burn on the way down, and a little burn on the way out.HT SYSTEM-

It was cold windy Halloween night in central Ohio. Jeepers Kreepers.Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant -
Great looking bunch you got there!
It was frigid in GA - Can't imagine OH!! -
Frickin' snow storm here in Chicago, cold and windy. Little boogers got robbed of candy collecting. Had maybe 5 groups of kids the whole night.
Oh well, I got grandkids so the candy left won't go to waste.HT SYSTEM-

we had wild weather -- some New Hampsha towns cancelled (postponed) trick or treatin' until tonight. Can you imagine? What happened to "Live Free and or Die"?

This announcement, literally,
was circulated in the NH town where our daughter & her family live. Now... this is New Hampsha. What do Jacque Cousteau, Scuba Steve, and Flipper all have in common? They will all be taking part in Grantham’s Trick or Treating tomorrow, October 31st between 5:30 pm and 7 pm. After looking at various weather forecasts, it was decided not to postpone Halloween’s happenings. Now this might be the ultimate “trick” by the ghouls at the Weather Channel.
However, we are a hardy sort here in Grantham, and don’t scare easily. So, grab your swim fins, snorkels, and wet suits and take the plunge with the rest of us. As always, members of Grantham’s Emergency Services will be on Lifeguard duty, ready to toss you a towel or a mini Snickers, should a few drops of rain down your back send shivers up your spine.

Flinty yankees that we are -- our town had Halloween 'on schedule' yesterday, too.
