@verb None of the TFM X series amps had the transfer function modification circuitry (what gave them the pleasant tube sound which mimicked the sound of Carver infamous Silver Seven Tube mono blocks that they became famous for) Now granted they were THX certified, they absolutely did not sound the same. I have had both THX and non THX TFM as well as the later A series that replaced the TFM’s.
I’ve had three TFM-45’s. Two TFM-25’s. A TFM-55x and an A-500x. So I can testify to the fact that they sound different. I GREATLY PREFER the sound of the pre THX amps like this one.

This was my first amp I ever bought. I bought it from a local brick and mortar store who is still in business but no longer in business in my city. This was completely rebuilt in 06/2011 by Roland.
    http://carveraudiorepair.com/hitechaudioltd/workmod.html

It has not been used 100 hours since the rebuild as I also had a TFM45 rebuilt at the same and used it (TFM45) from that point on. This TFM25 sat in my bedroom rig and I only used in while cleaning the room or putting clothes away. The last 5 years it has been boxed in a stack in my current bedroom.

I'm asking 350.00 firm plus shipping and insurance it will be double boxed for safety. If I know you then we can work something out for payment but other than that it must go through Paypal friends and family.
You must have 150 post and a member in good standing on the forum.
The rebuild and shipping both ways to and from Washington St. cost me far more than the asking price and it will have many years of life left. There is some of the silk screening on the face that has come off but all in all this is a very solid presentable amp. There are a couple of marks on top front where the preamp sat but you have to look close to see them.
I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Even though the seller's middle name is Richard, the amp specs and being recapped by one of the best in the biz should overcome this small flaccid issue.

Folks who are on the fence, if you bought one and sent it in to have it re-capped, it would cost you more then buying this one already done. This is a solid amp and at this price, it's a no brainer.
