I recently purchased a used CS200 center channel. I am getting a lot of crackling and only high end sound out of it and that is pretty broken. Can anyone tell me if the tweeter and both drivers need replaced or if there is a way to test which ones are bad. I really don't want to spend the money to buy a different one. Thanks for anyones help in advance.

    Hi:

I would connect it to the L or R channel to make sure it is not the center channel in your receiver. Also make sure you have it connected and set up properly. If it still acts up do a physical inspection and see if the cone is separated. They are not too hard to remove from the enclosure. Check the binding posts and make sure the wires are solidly connected on the speaker side.

If everything else checks out, you should be able to determine which speakers are bad by close listening with the grill off. If they still act up you will probably have to replace some drivers.
