Amplifier opinions

I'd like some opinions on Emotiva , and parasound amps. Just doing lots of research. You all are very wise in the way of audio, and I am not. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Welcome to Club Polk. Parasound amps are terrific, and will take your system to a new level.

Emotiva, makes well made amps that some find to be bright depending on what speakers you have.

What does your system consist of and how much were you looking to spend.
Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 ch. 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony Bravia KDL-40R510C TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Boston VR-920 Center Channel, SVS NSD-12 SB12 Subwoofer, Polk DSW 400 Subwoofer, Polk FXi-3 Surround Speakers
  • I have SDA 1B'S , a carver c 1 pre amp and i'm trying to keep it under a grand, i don't want a divorce lol

Lots of folks here like the Parasound amps. Mixed reviews on the Emotiva, from what I've read. I have neither, but while I was searching, decided to not go after Emotiva. Of course, others here will opine, and YMMV! :)

Start off with a used Parasound amp, like the HCA series, 1200 or 1500. Usually around 4-5oo bucks. They pair well with SDA's too.
    HT SYSTEM-
    Sony 850c 4k
    Pioneer elite vhx 21
    Sony 4k BRP
    SVS SB-2000
    Polk Sig. 20's
    Polk FX500 surrounds

    Cables-
    Acoustic zen Satori speaker cables
    Acoustic zen Matrix 2 IC's
    Wireworld eclipse 7 ic's
    Audio metallurgy ga-o digital cable

    Kitchen

    Sonos zp90
    Grant Fidelity tube dac
    B&k 1430
    Tad 803 speakers

I really like my lowly Parasound HCA-1000A that John Curl helped me soup up but the HCA-1500 is where I want to go.

Outlaw is a great alternative to Emotiva. Maybe consider them as well. They pretty much hit the same price points in their product lines. Although I think their build concepts are very different.
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant
  • Thanks for all the advice, I went with a parasound halo a-23, I’m just using my old carver c-1 pre amp. I freaking love it! The interconnect cable is like a key that opens a hidden door, amazing!
