My equipment.

DVD player: sony NS7000P
Receiver: Onkyo 787 (THX-EX-DTS-ES)

Although the DVD has a DTS format I cant seem to get the "tag" on my DVD player-it seems like it automatically selects Dolby Digital... (I cant find the audio selection on the DVD either)

HELP! :)

Not sure of the details, but a few months ago there was a problem (see Onkyo website) re Onkyo receivers & some recent-release DTS soundtracks. If I remember correctly, Onkyo said it was a soundtrack encoding problem, not an Onkyo problem, but you'd have to check the website or call their cust srvc to find out more.

In the language menu/set-up, select dts. Worked fine for me. Make sure you have dts selected in your receiver/dvd player set-up menus.

    Peace Out~:D

The problem Onkyo mentioned was with DD 5.1, not DTS. But who knows, maybe you've uncovered a new bug!

    Thanks RON- it worked!

For some reason I was looking for an "audio setup" menu item...but I guess they included the DTS setup in laguages.

You know, when I attempted to watch Spy Games, about every five minutes the close captioning info would pop-up on screen. Anybody else have that problem?
Of course, it was a rental. Thank god I didn't buy that piece of crap movie.
