A little bit of a long shot, and with mixed emotions, that the Mrs and I cannot attend this show.

At the beautiful Masonic Temple in Detroit Michigan! September 12th, 3rd row, main floor. Michigan Polkies, or those inclined to travel a bit, they are yours!

Shoot me a PM and we can work out the details. First come, first served.
Good luck and enjoy! :)

VERY generous karma Dave! I only know of their one song (Teardrop), but have perused some of their other stuff and liked it a lot. This karma has me listening to more of their stuff.

Someone close by should check them out.

If you’re referring to the songs Protection on the album by the same name .... and Better Things… That would be Tracey Thorn, best known from (EBTG) Everything But the Girl

I wonder who’ll be with MA in Detroit

Edit: further reading indicates Liz Fraser on vocals (of the Cocteau Twins)

Bring your earplugs and your sunglasses, or better yet your welding mask because you'll be seeing a lot of this:

    wvsedfq1yjl5.jpg

Most tracks were averaging 110-114db with some getting up to 120db. Even with my -33 db earplugs in it was excessive. No idea how everyone else around me was tolerating how loud it was without earplugs. It wasn't even balanced, the bass overpowered everything and was so strong it was vibrating my jeans and my jacket.

Again, watch your eyes because the amount of strobe lighting was absolutely ridiculous. I don't know if this is a new trend or what, but nearly every song had punishingly bright and fast strobe flashing from the huge LED walls. It was obnoxious to say the least. I think my eyes are still recovering despite me keeping them closed the majority of the time.

There was also a bunch of political images and other BS shown on the LED wall like people getting shot, dead bodies, etc.

I like their studio albums, but definitely wasn't a fan of this live performance.

Thanks Drew! Remind me never to hire you as part of the sales staff! :) All kidding aside, I too am not a fan of all the political messages that artists like to broadcast.

But, at least now we know going in, instead of being surprised.

@GlennDog I just emailed you the tix. Enjoy brother! :)

My friend bailed on me already. So I'm hunting down other MA fans

    Is Liz Fraser on vocals?
