Has anybody done business with this new company in the cowboy boots and accessories business?

If so, how's the fit, finish, and customer service?

    Customer service is great, however, I ended up sending the boots back. They were like many other prefab boots in their fit, couldn't quite get them to work for me. The finish is pretty good, but, you're limited on styles. I didn't care for how low they cut the vamp. I guess that's one of the ways they save money. You could do much worse for more money. The transaction was trouble free.

    I got tired of boots that almost fit perfectly, but not quite. I contacted this place:: https://www.jbhilltexas.com and ended up flying to El Paso and having a pair custom made. They measured every aspect of my feet and made a mold, or Last, that they keep stored for future orders. They alsinwill send you a future kit that you can do at home and return to them. They have a pretty good selection of ready made boots that can be modified, usually at no, or little cost. They also run a boot of the month sale and you can get really good prices at times. I love mine.

    Most boots now are outsourced, partly or totally,from overseas. There are very few boots that are totally made in the U.S.,they tend to come from small shops and are very expensive.
    If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

    @kharp1,

    Thank you for your feedback and advice.

    In fact, JB Hill is the maker of boots that I have been following for a couple of years since I visited a store in Houston that carried their boots. I just haven't been able to persuade myself to spend the money on their fairly pricey boots. I don't expect to wear them that much. Although from what I have heard from others who ended up buying a really good pair of boots, you can easily get hooked on them.

    I'm also partial to Horween cordovan leather. As far as I know, JB Hill is the only boot maker that actually makes cordovan boots from Horween leather. At least they make a boot with a cordovan vamp. The uppers are, as I recall, calf skin.

    Again, thanks for your comments.

    JB Hill will make the shaft out of whatever you want. I went with Ostrich vamp and horse shaft. Not as supple as something like bison, but, still very soft with good structure. I love mine, they are a lifetime product.

    Allen Edmonds makes a really nice cordovan dress boot in Wisconsin from leather made in Chicago. Not cowboy style, but a sharp looking boot.

    I just got my first pair of Tecovas Wyatt boots. Really nice finish and quality and the ostritch leather is super soft. I'm not quite happy with the fit - they seem a bit too snug in my usual size... so I am going to call them this weekend and see what they recommend.

    Thanks for the comments about your Tecovas.

    Allen Edmonds makes fine shoes, and I believe their cordovan shoes are made from Horween leather, which comes from Chicago.

    I have some pairs of dress shoes, including dress boots, made from cordovan leather by Alden of New England. Alden still makes their shoes in New England, and they use Horween cordovan leather, as well as other specialty Horween leathers -- e.g., Chromexcell. Great shoes and boots. I've worn a couple of pairs for over 40 years, and they still look good.

    As an aside, Horween makes the leather for NFL footballs, too.
