Capital Audio Fest 2019

So after much discussion with a partner, I’ve decided to make the 20 hour trek to DC and exhibit at the show. This will be my first time there so I’m hoping it turns out well. This will actually be my first trip to the Northeast.

I know there will be some exciting new products making their debut at the show so anyone in the area should make their way out. The new products will be completely American and present great value in the world of HiFi.

Anyone planning on going?

Too bad there's not a show in Bahsten :#

Capital Audio Fest is a pretty good one, I think -- the tubes and horn crew makes a pretty good showing there, thanks, I suspect, at least partly due to the local presence of folks like Joe Roberts :) I keep meanin' to go to one. I hear good things 'bout them.

Herb is the one in that trio that I don't know (in the internet sense of the word; i.e., I've never swapped e-mails with him, and presumably never will). I doubt that he'd like me. :|

@DSkip keep us up to date on what room(s) you will be in and what equipment you will be demoing. I will definitely go as long as I don't have to work.

I'm in Hagerstown now and will begin setup tomorrow. My intentions are to showcase a simple system anyone could strive for: Lumin U1 Mini ($2,000), Norma HS-IPA1 w/ DAC ($3,750), and Rosso Fiorentino Elba Gen 2 ($5,000). I'm definitely going to have one of the lowest priced systems at the event.

I went to CAF in 2012 or 13 with my son, our first large scale audio show, and really enjoyed it. As I recall it was the first year they'd changed to a new hotel on the beltway. As Skip states, $11K can be very entry level at these shows but you can make a name if you take on the big boys and get good press. To everyone that attends, enjoy, and @DSkip, best wishes for a successful show.

I think you should have it as Pamela Anderson or Jenna Jameson to get more foot traffic in the door.

We called our room "Runs with scissors" at LSAF this past spring. I think that generated most of our foot traffic until word of mouth started to get around. Hehe.
