At the end of the month we are going to Ireland for a 8 day tour. Just wondering if anyone has any advice? Any recommendations?

2 days in Dublin
2 days in Killarney
1 day in the following
Waterford, Galway, Derry.

Any AV stores or manufacturers in these areas?

I'm big into History and can't wait to see some of the historical site with my son who is 14. He will probably just roll his eyes! Lol.

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated!

My Wife and I did Ireland 2 years ago. What a beautiful Country. We actually worked our way from East to West over the week staying at Bed and Breakfasts and driving the Countryside. It was nice to have the freedom to stop and look at any of the various historical Castles and forts along the way.

Lots to do and see in Ireland. One of the most beautiful places with some of the nicest people on the planet. Dublin is full of stuff, Trinity College and The Book of Kells, The Guinness refinery, lots of music in pubs or you can check out the 3Arena on the River, (used to be called the O2 and The Point before that,) Eddie Vedder is playing July 3 and the Eagles July 6-8, maybe too late for you. Lots of historical stuff downtown to see if you're into Irish history. Castles and stone circles and dolmans all over the countryside. Galway is a cool college city; don't spend too much money in Waterford buying crystal but its fun to watch the craftsmen making the stuff at the factory.

Yeah, Cliffs of Moher are good and near Galway. If you fly into Shannon maybe your tour will stop there on the way to Galway. I liked the north a lot also, you said you're going to Derry which will be very nice. Different feel up there.

I think you can check out where Camelot is claimed to have really existed. ;)

:D Sorry. That's across another pond into Wales. But it's straight across. ;):p

Traveled/camped from the north down to Dublin with my family in the 80's. Derry/Londonderry was still patrolled by British soldiers and tensions were high. Much nicer travels these days in the north, from what I'm told. Awesome natural formations in the Giant's Causeway and you can tour the oldest licensed distillery in the world.

Muckross House & Park in Killarney.

Bunratty Castle and Folk Park between Killarney and Galway.

And, definitely, Cliffs of Moher, which is a day-long trip from Galway.

Too much stuff and too famous to have to mention all that you can see and do in Dublin, but try Eli's as a restaurant for an evening. It's in the old wine vaults in the customs district.
Family Room, Innuos Statement streamer (Roon Core) with Morrow Audio USB cable to McIntosh MC 2700 pre with DC2 Digital Audio Module; AQ Sky XLRs to CAT 600.2 dualmono amp, Morrow Elite Speaker Cables to NOLA Baby Grand Reference Gold 3 speakers. Power source for all components: Silver Circle Audio Pure Power One with dedicated 20 amp circuit to main panel.

Exercise Room, Innuos Streamer via Cat 6 cable connection to PS Audio PerfectWave MkII DAC w/Bridge II, AQ King Cobra RCAs to Perreaux PMF3150 amp (fully restored and upgraded by Jeffrey Jackson, Precision Audio Labs), Supra Rondo 4x2.5 Speaker Cables to SDA 1Cs (Vr3 Mods Xovers and other mods.), Dreadnaught with Supra Rondo 4x2.5 interconnect cables by Vr3 Mods. Power for each component from dedicated 20 amp circuit to main panel, except Innuos Statement powered from Silver Circle Audio Pure Power One.

My wife and I just spent a week in Ireland last month. It was a wonderful time. We stated at an airbnb in Stoneyford, just outside of Kilkenny. Also went to Skibbereen Dunmore East and Baltimore. The scenery is fantastic. Look around for ruins of abbeys, castles and towers. Dunmore East has a walk along the coast. Baltimore Harbor (not Maryland) has a beacon at the top of a hill at the entrance to the harbor that overlooks the Atlantic. It is very picturesque with waves crashing in on the jagged rocks.

People everywhere were super friendly. One of the people in our party has distant family in Skibbereen and Balleydehob that we met and even got to go to a birthday party for a relative who turned 103. It was a small modest farm house stuffed with people with the greatest hospitality. It was interesting to see a bottle of Jameson and Budwiser next to the cake.

    Logistics:
We had good weather, only one day's worth of rain. Beware, clothes driers are kind of rare. Restaurants tend to close early and many pubs stop serving food but the Guinness still flows. Check the hours of parking garages as some also close early. Our car got locked in and we had to call an attendant to come. This took about an hour and 25 euros. They use standard UK power outlets.

Let me know if you have any questions, I'll try to answer. Have a great time.

+1 for prior comment on renting a smaller car. First visit I rented a larger car and it was miserable driving on the country lanes. Also roundabouts are your friend; you can keep going round until you figure out your exit.
