Yesterday, June 14th 2003, was the day I smoked my last cigarette. About 2 months later, as a "reward" of sorts, I bought my first pair of Polk speakers (R50), then I joined this Forum. As far as which event was more beneficial, I'll call it a tie B). Just thought I'd share with the family.
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

    Congrats to you on your Flag Day anniversary. I'd have to say giving up those nasty butts is far more beneficial. You can buy a pair of speakers anytime but you only have one pair of lungs.

    Congrats to 16 years of no smokes. ;):) It's not an easy thing to do at all!

    I read the day people quit smoking is the day our lungs start to try and heal themselves. ;)

    I bought Ribeye steaks with my cig. money after I quit. Then some woodworking tools.

    Then speakers and stereo elec. gear from then on. I quit when cigs were 14.00 a carton. :D Dec 17th 1998.
    Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

    I did a touch and go with the cig thing while I worked in Mexico for a couple of years. 20 bucks a carton even today. When I got back to the USA, cold turkey, would not spend that much on a carton!

    Never looked back! :smile:

    After we quit at about the same time;

    My wife and I NOTICED just how bad an ashtray smells and we could walk by people and tell that they smoked. It's like a camp fire smell after the fire's been put out isn't it? :#

    But smoking sure seemed to give me energy. I do miss that!

    I still do the cigar thing. Love em. Kinda like a slow burn, ramp up then down, unlike a cig that hits you like a sledgehammer! Memories! :smile:
