Crack #4

No clever name for this one yet. It's pretty much a standard Crack with upgraded components but everything is moved around for the bigger plate.

This won't be as upgraded as the BAC version - just no room to get that crazy.

Output caps will be paired so one set on top of the plate and the other set below. Last power supply cap is 450uf so that I can keep the output caps smaller - these will measure out to 79uf per channel instead of 100uf. With the 300 ohm cans this should work just fine.

Wiring is about 75% done.

It ain't called CRACK for nuttin'! It's just a fun build. Simple enough that moving things around is a challenge but still doable.

The box it's on was for another crack build but math got in the way and it didn't fit the standard crack plate. It's been laying around for a couple of years and it was time to put it to use.

That's one of the best excuses I've ever heard for acquiring an audio project. Second only to, "I had an unused power outlet."

No cradle but there is a plan in place to keep the caps off of the plate using some cushion material.

I'll take a shortcut and just spike the caps!

If you're not a hack, you'll do this with the unit powered up. And wet hands.

I started with the Senn HD650's but am using the ZMF Auteur now. I do think the speedball will get installed sooner than later. Mids/upper registers are good but the lower mids/bass is loose/wobbly/not tight.
