Holy mackerel !
I knew tubes could get pricey but this is ridiculous…

Oh what the heck . . . The Cary needs 8 of them but only 4 in the sweet spot
For 4, that totals $3380

Hey Dave my tube buffer only takes 2 tubes yet I have 30 sets of 6sn7, 6BL7, 6bx7 and 5692's. Triple mica's, coin base, tall bottle and short bottle. Starting from early 1940's to about 1975. I'm fully infected :#:#

The Ken Rads definitely have a place and time. Like right now I’m running-in some new speakers that sound a little thin. The KRs really take the edge off

These are very under rated tubes. Old CBS tubes like these are a favorite of mine. Most of them were made in the Ken Rad plant later. I do not know where these were made but any you see with the 188-5 is most definitely the Kentucky Ken Rad plant that was bought by GE. There are many fake CBS tubes that are actually GE tubes which have the side getter and side flashing, not bad tubes but do not pay a premium for them. True old CBS/Hytron look just like these from my research. These look brand new never used as no silvering on top.
To me they sound like Tung-Sols with more air on top end.
