Anyone ever hire an interior devastator?

I have like a dozen pictures to hang in my house and got stuck after like 3. I got no style. Is a decorater expensive? Will they listen or will I pay to throw them out? Most of what I have Dali and then I got a huge "jolly roger" that I gotta find a place for.

Usually an interior decorator works closely with furniture distribution only available to professionals so they actually make a commission along with their fees. The furniture can/will be on the higher end.

IMHO with internet and magazines you can pick a style and work with that and find more cost effective alternatives

Be careful. They may throw your Hello Kitty collection in the trash.

We worked closely with an interior designer when we built our current house in NH. She was excellent for us and cost-effective. She was also a partner for us in the sense that she had some leverage with subcontractors that we didn't. Based on our experience, I'd say definitely look into it.

Here's an example of the first stuff we did (most of the furniture in the photo was new for this house) with her help. She's, of course, working to our tastes and would do other stuff for folks with other aesthetic preferences.
