Psw108 hums with the receiver off

I have a PSW 108 , when I turn my onkyo nr676 off the Sub has a low,but audible hum. Any idea what the issue is?

    Could possibly be a ground loop. Does the receiver share the same outlet as the sub?

    Not saying that's the cause, but for test purposes only, try different outlets and see if the hum goes away, even if that means to use an extension cord.
