I just got a pair of T50 floorstanding speaker, and instead of using it as my front L R, I'm choosing instead to use them as surround L R in my 5.1 setup.
I'm using TX-NR686 onkyo av receiver.
I would like to know, to maximise the speakers full potential in my particular setup, what crossover frequency would be good?

Would try that frequency. I did an accuEQ calibration using the onkyo receiver, and it gave a 40hz

I'm actually not sure of the sound difference between 40hz all the way up to 200hz

It really doesn't matter what the receiver put them at. My Marantz with Audessy sets my mains to 40 and I bump it up to 60. seeing as you are using them as rears def set them at 80.
