    I did something similar to a pair of Krix bookshelf speakers and built a center channel out of them for a friend. Turned out decent! I think the Elac might be done for good though...

    I sold some JBL L5s, or was it L3's to a guy who was going to do the same thing, build a center channel. He did it and sent me pictures of the process.

    Talent and a desire can't stop anybody! ;)
    Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

    Cutting Altec 210 bass enclosures in half to "domesticate" them is a well-known thing in certain circles.

    "Domesticate" being a relative term.

    Gary Kaufman, e.g., has done it.
    A few of us helped him move the thing (pre-dissection) up a flight of (outdoor) stairs at his house on a snowy New Years Eve about a decade ago. It was no mean feat.

    and the ultimate implementation. Last I knew Gary was using a pair of Mac MC-60s to power them as subwoofers (Altec 515 drivers loading the cabinets -- of course!).

    @rooftop59 - just wired them in parallel. Ran both HF outputs to the one tweeter. It seemed to sound better that way. It’s probably a total 4-6 ohm load now. I had thought about building a new crossover but I was lazy. It seemed to work out fine, 👍🏻
