Place better speakers for surround or rear surround?

Hi guys, took a lot of your advice and got the matching 706c with my new 707s. Also ordered a Emotiva XPA-3 power amp as per suggested. My question now is, is there a rule of thumb on which surround speakers are more important (side vs rears)? I have the RTiA1 and T300 as surrounds right now as side and rear respectively. Just not sure if I should swap their locations, always wondered this so wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were. Let me know, thanks!

The only way to know for sure is to swap them around and decide for yourself.

I would place the better speakers closer to the ears.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.
