Help with impedance setting for rti a7 speakers

Hi guys I have the Polk rti a7s 8ohm speakers and I will be setting them up to A DENON poa 2800 200 Watts per channel at 8ohms and 400 watts at 4 ohms. My speakers are rated at 20 - 300 watts output. My question is how do I set the impedance level of my speakers from 8ohms to 4 ohms ? Sorry I’m new guys so yeah all help and tips are welcomed.

    You don't. It's a rough measure of the electrical load a given speaker represents. They're 8 ohm speakers and that's that. Ignore the watts per channel rating of your speakers. I'm not sure of the characteristics of that amp, but power-wise, you're just fine. Connect and enjoy.

    So does that mean if I use just one speaker it’s pushing out 200 watts to that speaker at 8 ohms but if I use 2 speakers as a pair then it’s pushing out 350-400 watts at 4 ohms?

    NO.....

    Amps don't just throw out that rated power the minute you turn it on. Chances are, you may never reach that 200 watts per channel. Like we said multiple times, pay no attention to those recommended watts numbers on the back of the speakers. Just feed them good clean current and you'll be fine. Start reading up about power and how that relates to speakers.

    As a side note, and a warning, just because you add an amp doesn't mean you can bury the volume dial either. Unless you like replacing parts in your speakers. When the sound starts getting congested, shrill, at higher volumes back off the volume dial.

    With a speaker of that efficiency, most normal levels of music will be probably just a few watts, and even playing "loud" maybe under 50 watts. Surprising how much listening is barely pushing the amp at all.
