Digital Coaxical to RCA?

Trying to connect my Directv receiver to a Polk Omni A1. Trying to avoid buying a bulky AVR in bedroom. Apple TV is using the digital optical input. What is left is a digital coaxial out on receiver (orange) and RCA (red/ white ) Audio on the Polk Omni A1.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

    I would suggest a DAC.

You can buy a small DAC at Monoprice for like $24. I use one for a set of wireless headphones for Bev's Dad. My TV only had a Toslink audio output, but the phones required analog L/R connections.

    https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=6884 My bad, only $17.99.

I have been using one for years, and it works great. Comes with it's own walwart PS.

I've used those converters before, as well. They work.

Another option would be to go HDMI to your TV with both the Apple TV and DirecTV, and then out to the Omni with the Optical, presuming your TV has it. Most TVs have optical or coaxical output. In a pinch, you could use the RCA outs from the TV to the Omni?

I didn't realize they were making these things with both coax and optical in one box. The ones I bought in the past were either/or. Good to know.

Would help if we knew the model of the TV. If the TV has a digital output, connect the apple tv and direct tv box to inputs on the TV then optical out to the omni.

If one doesn't care about DD signals from the tv, then yes. Without a receiver, you'd want the TV to do the switching and optical out to the Omni.
