Super Mario Jump Sound

I have SDA 2B studios powered by an Adcom GFA 555. When I power down the amp, about ten seconds later there’s a little squeal from the right channel that sounds just like Mario jumping. This wasn’t there when the speakers were wired directly to my Yamaha RX-V1800. Any ideas? The DC offset is 7 and 38mV

Sounds like typical Adcom power down transients.

And you're not playing Super Mario when this happens, correct?

Are you turning units On/Off in the correct sequence?.... (Turn On) Preamp/receiver before amplifier.... (Turn Off) amplifier first wait 20-30 seconds for it to completely power down n then turn off the pre/receiver. Just a thought

Sounds like it’s normal. I’ll try the different power-down orders to minimize but as long as it’s not a symptom of some ominous issue then I won’t worry about it. Thanks!

Ive heard Adcoms do this. My 555 never did & it matched well with sda2bs well. Im no tech. It never hurts to check all connections & clean all cables/wires (we sometimes over look tiny things). I would test amplifier on another & see if it FOLLOWS & then you will know. Sometimes it can be fun to play with audio :) Good luck n report back. Lot of Adcom fans here
