Ah-ha! They ARE loaded. Inverted bass reflex in a micro enclosure. Very interesting. And now it's easier to understand how they can declare low 20s with use of a BOM.

@tonyb it's the same as assigning a price to a shiny rock or piece of metal... In some cases the effort and cost to bring to market is far less than the asking price.

They look kind of cool, after a few months of kind of cool I think I would grow tired of looking at them. Other thing is keep small kids and jerks away from them. Way to easy to damage. Oh and pets... gee that would be a costly chew toy.

If they sound great and you like the looks, enjoy.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

With placement being critical and not having had the chance to optimize all I can say right now is there is potential. I brought these in to see how the MastersounD amps handle them and they do well. There are some holes that might just need more time to fix. These are still almost brand new so not broken in yet.

The reason I know the MastersounD amps handle them well is the control of the music.

    Klipsch KLF20's?

I had the KLF-20's for a couple of years plus the accompanying surround sound speakers and a 15" Klipsch sub too. I wish I still had that system too! It was awesome for surround sound!

Dingers! Good call there Tony. I'm strongly considering some upgrades for this set. I've still got the RTA 15tl in the closet that need work too so I'm not sure when I'll start them lol.

When I owned mine, I read about people changing the crossover components and values to tweak them. I also saw where a guy had 4 pairs of the KLF-30's and stacked 4 speakers upside down on top of the other 4.

I went to look and I'm still searching but I'm thinking it was 8 pairs now. 8 on top upside down on the bottom ones. :o

    Talk about CONCERT volume capability! :o :o :o :o
    ...................................................................., :o :o :o :o

Maybe it was just this but I think it was MORE.

Found this picture looking for Klipsch's.
Talk about big open baffles..these are BIG.
These are Jamo’s Reference R909 Open Baffle speakers. They cost $12,000.

There is a ton of information of crossover upgrades out there. I have a pair of the "Epic" CF-1's that I enjoyed somewhat, but, always contemplated a xovr change.

Cabinets look pretty good on those.

Cabinets have a few flaws but mostly surface stuff. They're in great overall shape. I've actually been trying to keep eyes out for a pair of CF-4 as they intrigue me for some reason but I haven't seen any in two years.

Skip, if you send me the 15s, you could get started on the KLFs that much sooner... ;)

There have been a couple come up on the forum of which speakers you speak. Think there may still be a pair on there, and, if memory serves, it's in your neck of the woods.

CF-4's are big powerful looking speakers too. I think they might need a 1' tall stand under them. ;)

They came with a hard, rubber (almost plastic) foot. I had the 1's and replaced the feet with a spike that raised them about 1.5-2 inches.

The 4's are definitely the most coveted of that series. In my small room the 1 performed very well. Of course, I do run a sub which helps with that model. As always, Klipsch speakers really respond well to tube power...probably more so in the Heritage line.

There is a pair of CF-1 on the list right now but it's more than I'd want to spend. I've really got too many speakers as it is. This forum sounds like a broken record, doesn't it?

I see you made it home safely with the goodies. You had a much better day than I did. Our second game was brutal. Anyway, congrats. Sure wish I could get a chance to stop by and hear them.
