Agreed, but I have no regrets with the 707’s for my HT rig..

Glad I got the 707's for HT use. Will have the option to use my 705's for music when in the mood. Just usually go sit in front of my 2.3TL's for tunes.

Are these that much nicer than lsi? I want them but what am I gonna do with these lsi I’ve acquired? They don’t seem to sell well.

I never let the resale value of my existing speakers determine whether i upgrade or not.
    YMMV.

It’s not so much the value as it would be a PITA to try to sell them. I don’t want another HT setup hanging around, too wasteful. I was curious if it would really be worth the effort haha

It's tough to pass up these great buys on LSiM speakers. I have no experience with the LSi, but if I wasn't overhaulling my HT, I would have been happy to keep using my LS70 HT setup. The difference is night and day. So much fuller and alive. Still I think you can be happy with anything you have. Just have to keep a level head. Something I am not very good at. :)

Bigger is not always better. Most here including me feel that the 705 is the Better speaker.

What makes the 705’s better speakers? I just picked up the 707 package for my home theater. I love them, but I’m gonna need a dedicated amp sooner rather than later. Lol. The rx-a2070 is great but I know there is so much more the speakers want to give.

Many here on the forum (I was not one of them) had a chance to sample the LSiM models very early on before or during the initial release. Many have said that the 705 is the most accurate speaker in the LSiM line. Some have said that the 707 is not as balance from the top "Sonic engine" down to the woofer range.

Still, the 707 is a very nice set of speakers. I really liked the 703's I had in the HT and have only heard the 707 in a HT setting. The 707's are the ones that I originally wanted but it would be nice to try a set of the 705's. I found an unheard of deal on a set but the guy backed out and decided to keep them for his basement system.

The 707 look better than the 705, but I have never heard either one LOL.

Thanks for the explanation. I am really enjoying my 707’s and 706. I would have to say that the 706 has made the biggest difference in my HT but the 707’s are beasts when it comes to music. Now I’m debating picking up 2 pairs of Polk OWM3’s for an atmos setup. Only problem is I have to use them as upfiring because I cannot mount them to the ceiling.

@gumbay13 - They are beautiful! Congrats.

I have read that the Blackstone TL3's are timbre matched with the LSiM speakers. Might be a better choice than owm3's

I found the Definitive ProMonitors to match the LSI line better than the Blackstones.

The TL series was a serious let down to me.

What was it that you didn’t like about the TL3’s specifically?

Thanks @Earthy. I ordered 2 pairs and they should be here Thursday. My buddy is coming on Friday to help me set them up. I’ll post the results. Really excited. Hoping atmos gives me the immersive experience I’m looking for.

Thin, strained sound. No real useable extension below 100hz...

The ProMonitors has a more full, accurate sound reproduction. Overall a smoother, more balanced sound.

Yeah, the DT PMs are great - won't be parting with my 5.1 set for quite a while, if ever! The Polk TL3s are designed to be crossed over at around 110Hz, plus or minus maybe 10, so I wouldn't expect more from them.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Dolby Atmos channels are filtered below 180Hz. So, I don't see why the TL3s wouldn't work well in that role, as long as you can mount and position them properly.

Yep, refurbs. But the 703s I just ordered directly from Polk's F&F deal back in November also seemed like refurbs. Schmutz on both tweeters, dent in one of the grills even though no shipping damage, slight imperfections in the veneer, not consecutive serial numbers etc.

    Shrug.

That’s a good price for used. At least you know somebody at Polk checked them out first. Grabbed myself a pair. Thanks for the heads up.
