good thread. I'm kicking around a few ideas for an outdoor fire area, and was curious about the cost of wood.I disabled signatures.

Depends on what type of wood. Denser hardwoods here are about $150-200/cord(4'X4'X8'). I cut all my wood so it's the cost of gas and my time....much cheaper than $200. Been getting a little hard to come by lately though and may have to buy a tri-axle load for about $700(7+ cords). It wood be the 1st time in almost 10 years if I actually do it.
Dang, it's snowing! Guess we're gonna have a white Christmas after all.Yep, my name really is Bob.

$200-$400 per cord here.
So $66-$133 a rick if 1/3 of a cord is accurate. I've not heard of a rick and I can't tell if the 1/3 cord measurement was truth or sarcastic bickering.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

Publix bagowood $5.99 maybe 6-8 slabs of wood....

Nothin beats a good ole backyard tire fire!!....

A rick is typically 4x8 single stack, and price can vary widely. From $45 you load and haul to $100 delivered. That's in the Louisville, KY area.
-
a face cord by me, split and delivered to your driveway ranges from 100-150 bucks. Mixed hardwoods....if you want all oak or all cherry it's about 20-30 bucks more.
