Delivery by U.S. Mail

I received one S60 today by U.S. Mail.
I just thought that was kind of bizarre.
The postman stopped by and I went and picked it up.
The box has a couple of tears but not too bad,
as long as the speaker is OK the box can be reused
when we move into our house.

The other speaker is still en route through UPS.
I did change the delivery location so I can pick it up on Monday
at the UPS depot.

I just thought it strange they turned this delivery over to the post office.

Sometimes UPS sends some of their deliveries to a USPS post office in your area and it gets delivered by the mailperson.

USPS has been working in partnership with FedEx and UPS for a number of years now. Sometimes they have contracts for one of the private shippers to transport their mail across country, and sometimes USPS picks up the end point delivery contracts for FedEx and UPS. If it's cheaper for UPS to have one truck drop off a load of packages to a local USPS facility and have them do the deliveries they'll do that. UPS also does it if there is more business than they can cover in an area. Most of my Amazon deliveries these days get to my door by USPS. Their arrangement seems to work much better now than it did a couple of years ago when USPS took over a lot of the end point deliveries.

If I order something high value with next day shipping, UPS or FedEx will track it and handle it themselves. More money involved for them.

Open it an make sure there is no damage.

USPS, FedEx and UPS will all tear up boxes. most of it happens on the delivery truck.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

No, we're in the Mid Ohio Valley--Below Parkersburg.

I unpacked the one tower I got today and I have to say
it is Very Nice. It's a few inches taller than my current speakers
and just as deep. The finish on the Polks look better--more expensive.
Everyone here at home is impressed and now we're waiting till Monday
to wire these babies up. If they sound as good as they look, knowing Polk
I'm sure they will---We'll be in business.
