Recommendations on How to deal with UPS.

Hi

Thanks in advance for your comments.

So here it goes. I placed an order for a Marantz SA8005 and check that it was deliver on Tuesday left at the front door. Short story no package found at the front door. I am out of the country now but there is always someone at the house.

I have no control on shipping as it was comming from United Mileage Program. Already contacted UPS and next will be United.

Any recommendations from anyone with this past experience.

Oh and to make myself feel just mad and stupid just found out that the cloud storage for the security cameras was full. I did not select the recycling of old recordings.

Well it is what it is........let see what happens.

    ^^This, unless the shipper requested a signature all UPS has to do is ring the doorbell and drop the package.

    Yep, contact the shipper/seller. They will have to be the one that deals with UPS on insurance etc. Hopefully the seller is standup and will fix the issue, I cannot understand why shipper's do not require signatures on high dollar items.

    I have had this happen multiple times and so far every retailer has made it right.

    You can contact UPS and they can see the GPS location of the handheld scanner when the stop was completed, comparing that to your location, I would ask for that verification when you speak with them.

    If you live in an apt dwelling, depending on location they generally aren't allowed to leave the pkgs in a shared stairwell.

    Depends.... for my USPS claim it took LONGER because I initiated the claim rather than the buyer...

    Still waiting to reach the shipper they are located in Parsippany, NJ and they are close because of the winter storm in the East Coast.

    I purchased some Polk Monitors from their ebay store during the holiday sale and one of the speakers arrived damaged and I blamed that more on the packaging from Polk. Was pretty bad.

    I've shipped, and received, many items from both UPS and FedEx and have never had an issue. I realize what these packages go through in the process of going on a truck, off a truck, on a conveyor, on a plane, off a plane, on a truck and on your porch...so I try and pack accordingly and have yet to have an issue. I realize it does happen.

    I know through FedEx, and I think UPS as well, you can register an account and dictate how your shipments arrive. You can have them held at a facility for your pickup, ect. to help protect yourself. Something to consider.

    I believe it's the sellers responsibility to handle the claim.

    Just talk to the shipper and a replacement is comming. This time is going to my office UPS has to get a signature there every time.

    Because of issue's I've had in the past with suspected stolen packages, I send everything I order on-line to work. TV's, computers, car parts, etc. That way it's signed for and I am usually here when it arrives.

    Saves a lot of headaches.........glad it worked out for you.

    Look what show up at my door today. It was deliver to the wrong address. The people from the house stop by and drop it off.

    Too bad I am heading out of the country today for work and wont be back till Saturday.

    Awesome that it showed up. The GPS accuracy on the handheld devices the drivers carry is very accurate. Now whether they stop complete your delivery in front of your house is another story but for the most part they do.

    If you have a delivery issue like this, ask whoever is dealing with UPS to verify the delivery location via GPS.
