Monitor 4 with Peerless too bright

I bought a second set of Monitor 4's with Peerless tweeters and I find that they are too bright compared to my original set. I did see an old thread where someone said the same thing compared to their 5's. My old pair sound fine compared to the 5's but not the more recently acquired set.
The crossovers are different on the new pair, would this account for the difference?

What is the crossover configuration in the old set and the new set? Pics if possible.

that's odd... yes, if you can ID the components in the XOs it might help diagnose the situation.
Hard to imagine Peerless silk domes being too bright. They're pretty relaxed and well-behaved.
Note that I am typing this listening to HF being reproduced on 500 Hz Community horns loaded with JBL 2441 compression drivers

EDIT: This morning, I did give in towards my OCD tendencies and invert the horns so that their "Community" labels were right side up. Night and day difference in presentation, of course. Jaw dropping.

These come from my "too bright" newly acquired Monitor 4's.
I even got another set of identical type of crossovers to try. Same result. Was going to swap the older set at some point to see if it makes a difference.

Holy moley. Profoundly different crossover topologies. Same driver complement in both pairs of 4s? Really?!?
The simpler one (which looks like simple first order one each driver? -- EDIT: nope, two chokes there -- sorry!) is the bright one? If so -- replacing that (blue) nonpolarized electrolytic capacitor with something like a Dayton or Solen crossover capacitor would probably help.

JaeP, the first crossover you posted are just like Faustin's right down to the same date! http://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/174641/polk-audio-monitor-4-lf-14-system The second crossover you show has a single 5.8uF cap and 2 inductors like my Monitor4's . I really like the sound out of my 4's and do not think it is too bright at all. What it really comes down to is what sounds best to you.

I'll post more pics and update as I work in it.
I have some extra crossovers but I need to better understand the science of it first. I have extra Monitor 5 peerless crossovers as well. I wonder what that would do on the 4? -
If you can post pics of the back side of the tweeters, that may shed some light. There are a couple of iterations of the peerless. I think there were 2 or 3 from Denmark, and 1 or 2 from the USA. There is a peerless tweeter thread in here somewhere. AFAIK they all had similar electrical properties, but people say there is a little difference in sound between the Denmark and USA versions.
