FOR SALE, My LSiM703 and LSiM706c set in Midnight Mahogany. There were purchased back in Dec 2015. The 703's are in great condition and the 706c is in good condition. The 706c was damaged during shipping (Silly shipper packed it in peanuts!). The baffle was broken off and the woofers were damaged. New woofers were ordered direct from Polk and the baffle was reattached using liquid nails and Titebond wood glue. See the pictures the daylight really shows the detail....not nearly as noticeable in a normal lit room. They look much darker indoors as well.

There are some very slight surface marks on the top and side if you look closely. Also, some of the paint was broken loose on the bottom only. All in all very hard to see when in place. I enjoy these and man do they sound good for home theater and music. I like the center better than the CS1000p! The dialog clarity and center bass anchoring is something special. Audyssey wants to set these at 40Hz, so they both have low end.

I don't want to sell but the Chane set that I'm trying to sell are getting no love, so I can't keep both. These have fueled the passion to have a big soundstage. So, my next set will be a large DIY set.

Asking $1200 shipped to the lower 48!

I would prefer local pickup in NW Indiana, Chicago area at a reduced price. However, I do have the original boxes for the 703's and I will box the 706 surrounded by thick styrofoam sheets.

Walt

That's a good deal on 703's alone, but fantastic for the three.
Maddening about the shipping mishap. Looks like you got it sorted nicely, though. Good opportunity here for someone to get into LSiM. I thoroughly enjoy them.

Yeah, and some are still trying to get me to go down on price. One guy offered $200 for the 706! All things considered, the baffle broke clean off due to the brittle glue that Polk uses. I doubt it will come off now with the Titebond and Liquidnails that I used....the wood would probably give before the joint! New woofers and some paint chipped off from the bottom. All things considered...I still like the performance of this refurbed 706c over the CS1000p that I had....and I sold that 15 year old speaker for more than $200.

The nerve of folks......and the guy has a set of 705's!!!

I might end up keeping these. Not a bad thing.

Well, Fri night I watched the new Staw Wars with the Chanes in place. I'm tempted to put the Polks in....ESPECIALLY with that $201 offer Dan.

    They might be staying...

The 706 is a fantastic center. I also prefer it over the cs1000p. Vocals are more natural and it has more punch. Pairs well with SDAs. Someone should grab it at this price!

Yes I very well can live with this speaker.

As far as the repair that some seem really concerned about. IMO, I think I have this baffle glued on pretty good now. I've been building sub cabinets going back to the early 90's and have always used Titebond glue. In almost every case where I have purposely torn apart a joint, the join is stronger than the MDF and the MDF tears apart. The glue that Polk uses is really brittle and the baffle and support braces broke clean off at the glue! I guess others have has this same thing happen in the hands of UPS/FEDEX: https://us.v-cdn.net/5021930/uploads/attachments/9/7/0/5/3/87676.jpg

This thing is solid now...Liquid Nails on all of the seams. This is all one will see when in use!

and the sound, dialog, low end is awesome!

Every man cave needs a set of 703's.
Anything less and you might as well take up cross stitch and call yourself Susan.

Ha! I need to update my signature. I had a mancave. We moved into a new house and the basement space has been given to the kids. All the RTi's and amps are still in boxes. I am trying to get a two channel set up in the family room. I don't want to use the RTi12's and have been wanting lsim's for a while. So I am thinking about these but,

Do you all think that the 703's will be large enough for my 17' x 23' x 10' family room?

My room is about that size with 8 ft ceiling and opens to the kitchen. The 703's and 706c had a larger soundstage, and bass than my Chane towers and center. http://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/170836/fs-chane-a3rx-c-towers-a2rx-c-center

Get these for $700 and mate them with a couple of Outlaw M8 subs for $548 pair or two B-Stock Ultra-X12 subs for $1098 pair. I guarantee they will fill your space and you won't have a need to wonder about the 705s, 707s. Get a miniDSP to high pass the 703's and room correction for the subs. Play around with the placement, ports, and DSP and I'm sure something special might be possible. I have a feeling this setup would play far above its asking price and take the 703's up another level.

Good reads on adding subs to a 2 ch system with a miniDSP unit:

Do you know yet on which wall you will place your system, and where your listening position will be?
My main space is of similar size. I used LSiM 703s with a HSU VTF15 for 2+ years before I was able to try 705s. 703s, imho, are a flexible speaker. They offer big, plump sound belying their size. I found this setup to do well for background listening in the space, and they also did well for more intimate listening sessions, with or without the sub. A Swiss Army knife of speakers, I say. They remain a personal favorite.

I think the chip is with the center channel and that's sold. I think the 703 is minty.

Only the center had major damage. Its sold!

The 703's are in very good condition and are still available. One was new closed box and is about 9 out of 10 given it was used for some months. The other was new closed box. and is about 8 out of 10 in terms of condition. It has a slight imperfection on the edge and a small repaired grill slit. Can only see if looking close. See the pictures:
