For the most part, yes. There are occasions where even though the item is Prime, there will be a little delay. Usually it is noted in the item listing right near the Prime logo when something will not ship immediately.

I've been a member for about a year now and I'd say about 95% of my 2 day deliveries came in 2 days.

Get mine mainly in 2 days, even sometimes delivery on Saturday and Sunday. Occasionally items take a little longer but then they split the shipping and deliver the one item a couple days later.

Usually yes, except when USPS is involved. USPS "lost" five orders in their Baltimore center during the winter. Amazon's Prime service really took a big hit in my area when they got USPS more involved last year, but they seem to be getting better. Currently, an order is misdirected to New Jersey though. UPS and FedEx still rule for reliability.

I have been a member for 3 years and got the packages within 2 days 95% of time. However, I have started questioning myself if its worth the annual membership fee. I dont stream movies/music from amazon at all. And most of my orders are over $35, prime is free on those anyway.
Only thing they have me on hook is their car show with Jeremy Clarkson, James and Richard. Dont know when its going to release the show. Its not even titled yet.

I get 2 day shipping at the same 90%+ that most all others do. The times that it may take longer are when purchases are made from an independent seller, not coming from Amazon's warehouses. I live 4 miles from a new distribution center. I often get one day delivery as well, and two day when I order on Sunday (arrives on Tuesday whereas most other places' "two-day" shipping would get in on wed.). Its all about where or not the closest warehouse has what you ordered.
I also enjoy the free streaming, I am going to cut cable for the summer and just use amazon, netflix, and maybe HBO Go. I'm wondering if this is intentional to help push me to pay extra for prime or other shipping options. From what I understand, when you use their free shipping they will wait it out and try and ship all items in one box, from one shipping center.
So, if they are waiting on an item to arrive in a shipping center close to you, they will sit on the order till it arrives and then ship the items all at once. It's much cheaper for Amazon to ship you one box from one center than multiple boxes.
But with Prime, you can choose to ship in multiple boxes to ensure the quickest possible service.
If you ordered a single item, well I guess they just dropped the ball then! -

Amazon was formerly a great company if you didn't happen to be a prime member. They have fallen quite a bit for those of us non-prime users. They are pushing prime like crazy these days.
I ordered some stuff (cd's and few other basic things) bought enough to cover the now increased "free" shipping threshold which is $50 instead of $35. Ordered on Saturday (all from Amazon no market place items) and as of today they still haven't shipped. WTF!
In the past even the free shipping (which required less purchases) was usually here in 3 or 4 days tops. But it's been 6 days (I count Sunday because they do ship/deliver) and it's not even been shipped. There is no reason for the delay as these are coming direct from Amazon not another vendor, and are in stock.
If this is their new business model, they can shove it. I expect them and hold them to the high standards they have proven in the past. I use them because in the past they have been consistent, easy to work with and very quick (for free shipping).
Lately their prices aren't always the lowest and now they raise the threshold for free shipping and it takes twice as long to ship the items.
I feel like they are just accommodating Prime users and the rest of us can just suck it!

Mail and package theft is a problem here west of Seattle.
It takes 3 to 5 days before the item is shipped if it's going to the post office box.
If it's going to the house they ship almost immediately and UPS has it here in 2 days. Hopefully it doesn't get stolen.
