Best path forward to drive a pair of 703s and 706c?

I picked up a pair of 703s and 706c on the friends and family sale last month. I am still waiting for the 703s, but have been doing much research to try and determine the best path forward on an AVR or AVR/Amp route.
Assumptions:
So with the assumptions above, does anyone have any guidance on which route to go with? Would a high end AVR be able to drive those speakers for HT with no issues? Does it make sense to go with an AMP when I decide to add the surrounds? Whats the best cost effective route so I am not spending unnecessary money?
Brands I have looked at: Anthem, Marantz, Yamahaa
Assumptions:
- Set up will be probably be 80% HT / 20% Music
- Will be only driving R,L,C for now. Sub is TBD, but surrounds will come at a later date.
- Floor layout is an open (2 story) plan that flows into a kitchen
- Space will most likely not expand past 5.2
- Will be using for 4K
- Budget ~$1500 for just AVR or ~$2000 for AVR+ external AMP

I use a Yamaha Aventage RXV-A3000 with good results.

I originally used a Yamaha RX-A2010 to power the 703's. I then bought 2 Outlaw model 2200 to power the 703's, this made a big improvement in the overall sound. Next I used a Parasound New Classic Model 2250. The Yamaha was the pre-pro. Next I got a Parasound Halo A31 & that was another big improvement in the overall sound. I sold the Yamaha and got a Emotiva XMC-1. This is were I am now and the sound is great I use a Polk 704C for the center channel. Try to get a Parasound 2250 off of ebay. You won't be disappointed. Parasound according to this forum is a very good match for Polk 703's. Good Luck hunting.

I looked up all the items you mentioned. It looks like a great set up. I think I am going to go with a Yamaha and a used, reputable power AMP to add to the mix. -

Exactly the info I was looking for. I think I might try the Yamaha and B&K 200.5 combo!
