Indeed. We always had a patch, and I'd snap one off and chew on it as a kid.

I haven't met a pie I didn't like. But as my colleague in History informs me, PIE is mostly a southern thing! He hails from S.C.!

Tony, are pies off limits because you don't like them, or because your wife is looking out for your weight? One of my best friends is Italian and makes pies to die for!

The Helix above reminds me of how much it pained me to teach the Physical Anthro. course in the past (population genetics and human diversity, Human evolution, and primate behavior, etc.). Four Field Anthropology, an American legacy! I remember all those old endocasts in the lab, lol.

They're coming to take me away, they are, they're coming to take me away...

    Hey!
A Higgs boson walks into a church one day.
The priest says "We don't allow Higgs bosons in here! Shoo!
The Higgs boson quips back " But without me, you wouldn't have mass!"

    Ponder your existence now, mortals!

    That was excellent.

Rene Descartes walks into a bar.
Bartender looks up and asks, "Want a drink?"
    Descartes says "I think not."
    And disappears.

Oh, quite the opposite pal, pie's/cobblers....don't last much more than 24 hours around me. They all have a very short life expectancy.

Thing too is, I've been blessed with a good metabolism and putting on weight is never something I have to be concerned about. I can eat a whole cheesecake in one evening and lose 2lbs. in the morning.

Me and desserts have a bond, an unbroken relationship. I may even be asked to be buried with a few, for that long journey....somewhere. ;)

Which is why we have a "Highway to hell" but only a "Stairway to heaven", says a lot about anticipated traffic patterns, no ?
