anybody heard of passage pre-amp tube (tara labs?)

Found one online, tube line stage called passage, by tara labs i guess, 2 12au7 tubes... nice looking unit. anybody heard of it? any good? Im torn if i want a tube pre or just stick with a SS pre, adcom, rotel or what not... but in the 150-300 dollar range thats not vintage... any suggestions on this unit or similar

    It's a decent tube line stage.

    12au7's are common, and cheap, so that's a good thing. I'm not a fan of 'stepped' pots, esp for gain. I'd like to see at least 3 tubes in a pre, if they are using 12a_7 tubes. (U,T,X). 1 for line in, 1 for line amp, 1 for line out. With only 2 12au7's, it's using sand for something.

    I'd grab it for $150-180, not what he is asking.

    so ya think a tube pre with no tube rectifier, just a pair of 12au7's would do the trick? and for under 300.00? Its actually called passage, space & time by tara labs, go figure on the name..

    The added cost i guess is the added dact, claiming 120 worth of work, so he wont come down on price :rolleyes:
