The enhancer button...

I have a bunch of MP3's 320 bit that don't sound so bad with the "enhancer" kicked in. Am I gonna go blind listening to these?

I do have some of these duplicated in FLAC and there is no comparison. However I did try to demonstrate the difference to my 26 year old son and he liked the MP3's better. Go figure, ruined on ipods. He is probably not really my kid anyway.

Of course I am kidding I won't disown him lol. It did take me demonstrating Dark Side of the Moon MP3 to SACD for him to be able to discern the difference. He wasn't really getting MP3 to FLAC.

    Could be different masters.

Night that could be but my daughter said "don't do that again" when I played the MP3 and the FLAC of the same CD's for her lol. She was very clear that the MP3 was subpar.

To me the "enchancer" on Yamaha AVR's sounds like a modern day loudness switch/button.

@Nightfall I cant say that I remember for sure the "loudness" switch from back in the day. I can't much remember today before 1400, I am pretty sure i was still at work. Anyway I don't think it is the same as the "loudness" switch, button, illusion etc. Enhancer does seem to add more than just bottoms to Pandora but I am not doing "critical" listening playing Pandora.

FWIW I am doing a lot of listening as opposed to destructive testing. It is a bit hard to tell the difference at low volume. Got to keep the fun going and just doing back to back comparisons is more like work than fun.
