Polk Melee -> Xbox One -> Mic Often Unrecognized/When Recognized, Mic volume inaudible to Others

Hey Guys -

Just picked up the Polk Melee headset to use with my Xbox One. First things first, I absolutely love the sound quality in the headphones. Probably the best sound quality I've ever had in gaming ears. But, I'm having a problem.

The mic on the headphones is really finicky. One of two things happens every single time I try to use them with my Xbox One (I've got one of the newer compatible controllers with the Aux jack built in.)

1) The Mic isn't recognized, and I can't even talk in parties, etc.

2) The Mic is recognized, but the Mic's chat output is either constantly silent or barely audible.

Is there any way of resolving this issue? I just bought them less than a full week ago, and love the sound quality but without the ability to chat I would need to consider something else.
