edited April 2014 in Car Audio & Electronics
I have come to acquire a rockford p3 shallow mount sub in a rockford box. Heres the link The sub is blown, so should I just put a p3 back in or does someone else have any advise on shallow mount subs. I want to stay with this box, because it fits behind the seat of my truck.

Check out the Polk MM subs. They're pretty shallow and work very well. I've been running a pair of them for a couple of years now and love them. There are some other brands on Crutchfield that offer shallow mount subs.

Looked at those first. Must be under 4 in mounting depth. Not much room behind the rear seat in a 2001 super duty crewcab.

Hey, if you want something that will work for SUPER CHEAP, I have the sub below. I bought this years ago and mounted it in a box but never really used it much. Been sitting around for years. Send me a PM if interested in the driver. I'm in Crown Point, IN can send or pick it up if you are close.

    12" subwoofer and grille
Blaupunkt's Thin line "Sonic Saucer" technology has been able to effectively reduce speaker mounting depth without sacrificing sound quality. This speaker only requires 3 inches of mounting depth giving it the ability to be placed just about anywhere your creativity takes you.
    Power Handling: 600W max/200W RMS
    Frequency Response: 20-200 Hz
    Sensitivity: 90 dB (2.83V/1m) - 87 dB (1W/1m)
    Thiele/Small parameters: fs = 25 Hz, Qts = 0.50, Vas = 4.0 ft3
    Impedance: 4 Ohms system impedance
Woofer Magnet: 40 oz. Barium Ferrite
    Spring Loaded Binding Post Connectors
Installation Depth: 62 mm or 2.44 inch
Installation hole diameter: 280 mm or 11.02 inch

My picture...I don't have the shipping box any longer...but no biggie. I do have the grill and the owners book somewhere.
