How do you transfer the music on someone elses ipod on to your itunes?

Hey all a friend borrowed me his ipod to put music on it for him but, I would like to transfer the music he has on his ipod to my iTunes as he has quite a few selections that I wouldn't mind having. I plug it in, itunes recognizes it as his ipod and asks me whether I want to Sync it or not. Help me out someone please, I would hate to delete the tunes he already has on his.
