I have recently bought few NOS audio CD's ... unfortunately these are stored in a plastic wrap and it left some sort storage marks on the cd.
I tried cleaning of them with lite soap but it had actually made it worse.
Atleast i was able to rip other cd's with errors.

As important what you use as a cleaner is what you wipe the cleaner off with. I highly recommend a "microfiber cloth" to wipe with.

That said, windex might work well. I have used it a on a couple cd's with no problems.

My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

    Get some optrix.
If that doesn't work you may have to use mapleshade polish.

If you have any DVD rental shops in town most have a DVD/CD cleaning machine they run their rentals through when the inconsiderates bring the dirty rentals back. The family video store up the street charges a couple of bucks. I have brought a few used cd purchases to them they look like new after being run through the machine.

    ^^^^That would work well too.^^^^

That said, the Optrix and Mapleshade polish are more "treatments" than "cleaners". The Optrix might get the marks off however. I haven't used the product myself. I would try isopropyl and/or windex first however. And again wipe with a microfiber cloth.

Yeah, I had a feeling that was the case. I would try some isopropyl alcohol (91%) and see if that works. If not, you may have to go the buff them out route.

OK looks like i already have that CVS alcohol thingy .. which is actually isopropyl 91%.

strangely it worked good on the second CD shown in second pic above but the first one shows no effect
