I was considering bidding on this Cambridge Audio A500 - anything I should ask about or consider first (i.e. different versions, criticisms about its sound)? How much is reasonable? (I'm only considering this since it is a store-owned item.)

So, maybe 200?! (a joke - say ha) What would you offer if you needed a quality sounding amp on the cheap?

Also (v. quick responses will do) - will I have any trouble connecting to either this (my only available outs right now) or a minijack (from my computer) until I can get a special audio card in a few months? Also, is it possible to wire a sub to this, or will that be difficult?

There is still three days left on the auction no need to drive the price up sit back and wait maybe the price will take care of it self.

    No it should be easy.

    Depends on the sub.

Subwoofer hookup should be easy, it has a set of pre-outs. You can always fall back on the speaker level terminations, for the subwoofer.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
