....to see the Infamous George Grand and pickup some equipment for my father for father's day and his birthday.

Well, you may now be in awe! The Magic Closet has opened a second time for me and has seen fit to bless me with a piece of gear for a small pittance! The Magic Closet gave it's keeper, Mr. Grand, permission to bestow upon me a Kenwood KA-880D Integrated Amplifier. It's a cherry piece of equipment for an excellent deal! I am in eternal gratitude of the Magic Closet and it's keeper Mr. Grand for allowing me to have the opportunity to sample it's contents! What sweet contents they are too! I'd take pictures but it's powering Mr Grand's personal pair of KLH Model 6's and this is a Polk forum and stuff. Doesn't matter anyway, my digital camera is laid up at the moment. Needs fixin'!

    Good on ya though. Being bestowed with treasures from the MC is very, very cool. Visiting with the Grand clan, priceless.

    Hmmmmmm, I was sorta expecting George to be at my house, not that I'm complaining mind you.

    cool man.. i've heard stories of the magic closet... it's like bigfoot... i thought it was a myth until someone now has actually seen the magic closet. :p

    How can you NOT like a guy who shows up at your door on a Saturday morning with a bottle of Appleton estates rum, and buys stereo stuff?

    Buy the time I had to quit yard saling, and come home to meet John (actually from 8-9:30 A.M.) I had "acquired" a perfect set of Infinity SL-30's (6 1/2" two-way in a blonde cabinet), a pair of Jamo "Compact 60's (mint, palm of your hand jobs), a pair of Paradigm 7s'. Those I almost drove passed. Two ladies sitting in a driveway with what looked like a pair of Panasonic "Thrusters". Freakin' PARADIGM'S!! A pair of Boston Acoustics A-150's.

    And last but not least, the lady next door to the A-150 owner had some big Sony speakers. Did I want them? No. ALWAYS ASK THE MAGIC QUESTION!!!!!

    "Do you have any other stereo stuff?"

    "I think up in the attic is a tuner. Do you want to see it? I think it's a Marantz?"

    "Yes, I guess so." I am weak in the knees at this point thinking it MIGHT be tube Marantz!!$$$$$$$$$ Maybe her FATHER'S old Marantz. Yeah, that's it.

    She comes down and it's not Marantz. It's not even a tuner. It's a receiver. The best one that SAE ever made. A top-of -the-line SAE TWO R9 90wpc stereo receiver. Absolutely mint. Try and find another one of THESE. I didn't even know SAE MADE receivers. $10 with the BIC Beam Box FM antenna that it came with.

    All in a hour and a half. Magic.

    I wish I lived in the Magic closet.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
