Hello guys,

I am planning to install some polk audio subs for 2013 rav4 and I wanted to know
which system combination has an edge compare to the other
DB1222 or 2 mm1040 subs?
The price of DB1222 is cheaper compare to 2 mm1040 subs but it quite heavy and
takes a lot space in the cargo area. I can still fit it in but i really want to know if DB1222 better
than 2 mm1040 subs? Which ampilifer should i get pa1000.1 or pa2000.2 for the sub as well?

Thank you.

In terms of sheer output, a pair of 12's will give you more of it since they have more cone area and can move more air. However, the MM 10's are excellent subs. Im running a pair of 10's right now and love them. They play the 25 Hz not on the MECA disc and even the 18 Hz note on the IASCA disc with no problem at all and they have a good bit of output. So if all youre wanting is boom, get the DB12's. If youre wanting very good output along with very good sound quality, get the MM10's.

    Thanks for the reply,
I thinking to go for dual mm1040 too,
Did you build your own enclosure or you happen to purchase it online?
Which amp did you use for your dual mm1040 or
is it possible for pa2000.2 to power those subs?

I'm tired if building boxes so I just buy Sound Ordinance prefab boxes off Crutchfield. They're good prices, braced and built very solid. I'm using my 5 channel RF amp to run all my stuff including the subs at an underrated 500 watts x1 and it does a great job.

So in simpler words, the bigger the speakers the better . Right? ;)
