I have a Yamaha 10" 100 watt sub that I have owned for a few years now. This sub never came with any carpet spikes at all so I have the cabinet sitting directly on the carpet. Lately, I have been pondering the value in adding spikes to the cabinet. Does anyone have any thoughts as to how much of an enhancement I would get by doing this?
Polk RT 800i mains, CS 400i center, FX 500i surrounds, RT 35i rear centers, Definitive Supercube II, Yamaha RX-V3800, Samsung PN58C8000

Put it on a slab of real slate. It will stop reverberation and tighten up the bass. If you want good spikes PartsExpress.com sells 2" X 2½" adjustable spikes. Slate works best though with spikes. Forgot that part! duh.

Speaking of movin' around, a friend used to have a Sunfire, and he had to put a mousepad with a 25lb weight on top of it to keep it from moving...

    Hell of a sight.

    Cheers,
    Russ
Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.
